It is almost the end of June and the end of another financial year. That means it’s tax time but also something much more fun……my annual Stocktake Sale. There will be 20% off all stock (even the new ranges, the specials, and the new pre cuts of Luna Notte). The sale starts on Friday evening 6pm – 9.30pm, and continues on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th June 11am through to 4pm on both days. It will be a great opportunity to stock up on supplies for the cold winter months ahead.
I was able to spend a couple of hours out in the garden yesterday afternoon and even had to pull off the beanie and the vest I was wearing. It was so nice to feel the warmth of the sun after having so many cold and gloomy days……I guess it is winter……isn’t it? Well no one has told one certain reptile that I found curled in the middle of the lawn. It was a baby snake about 30 – 40cm long………..scared the living daylights out of me………..don’t really expect them to be out and about in June!
For all of those waiting patiently…………and also those not so patiently waiting (lol)………… the Christmas fabric has arrived! It seemed so long ago that I ordered these fabrics ……way back in January!
There are 24 bolts (including the panel) from the ‘Adoring’ range by Sandy Gervais from Moda. There are only about 8 or 9 that are really Christmassy (holly, baubles, and trees - you know what I mean) with the others being suitable for any project.
You may remember a few posts ago I was complaining about how the crows had been ripping up my lawn……..well today as I was leaving home to head for the shop I saw a different side to these large black birds. There were 2 sitting on the back of our jersey bull……….what on earth were they doing……..well they were pulling out some of his hair and collecting in their beaks……….a lovely and warm, hair lined crows nest is somewhere out there. The bull seemed to be quite content and was enjoying the whole situation.
Anyone who is self employed knows how hard it is to find the time to get away even just for a few days. But sometimes when the batteries are low it is just the recharge that you need. With both the farm and the shop to organise / work around……….it has often been easier to just forget it………the mad frenzy of shifting and feeding cows is exhausting in the lead up to going away......isn't that right Carol! We haven’t been on a decent fair dinkum holiday since our week in Borneo 5 years ago ……… but hey 3 days / 2 nights away in Castlemaine was better than nothing. We did have a nice break......... just shopping, eating (with no cooking or dishes!), sight seeing and even a few more hexagons were achieved. The bed in the cabin was horrid so it was nice to get home on Wednesday night. There are only 3 weeks until our cows start to calve again so plans for any other holidays are just on the wish list for the time being.
