This time of the year always sees a change at the shop. The change is that more tourists and travellers call in for a visit while the locals are busy with school holidays, recovering after a hectic Christmas / New Year period and just aren't back into the stitching mode. While some of the tourists are just lookers, filling in time on non-beach going days or doing the whole Food, Wine & Vistas Loop , others are stitchers who seek 'me' out. It is lovely to chat with people from different areas and backgrounds. Over the last fornight I have had visitors from Queensland, Sydney, Melbourne, India, Singapore, Canada and France.
Yesterday It was great to catch up with Vicki and Sharon from Lara. They attended my first Stitch in Spring day last September. Vicki is a big fan of Gail Pan ........ though I'm sure she isn't the only one........isn't that right Jo! Since attending the Stitching Day and learning Gail's needleturn technique, Vicki has completed a beautiful version of Gail's 'One little flower' in red and white........
120 flowers! I can't wait to see it in real life at the Stitch in Spring in September. She also told me that she is making Lenora's Springtime Dresdans in red and white..........maybe we will see that in September too!
Linda :)
Unfortunately I won't get a chance to call in Linda.....back to work tomorrow......
Loving the red/white quilt......nice work Vicki!!
