As soon as I saw this quilt at the Australian Quilt Market in November I knew that I wanted to run the Block of the Month through the shop.
It is the new Block of the Month by Natalie Bird from The Birdhouse and is aptly titled LOVE. I will be using the new range of fabrics 'Secret Garden' from Australian designer Lynette Anderson (which is due to arrive in the shop on the bolt this month) along with the beautiful Cosmo embroidery threads.
To make it easier the packs include the stitcheries pre-printed onto fabric ready for stitching and check out the cute pattern envelopes!
I have made a start on some of the blocks and am loving how quickly they go together.
I am using some of the Yarn Dyed fabric for my stitcheries and am now hooked on it! It is in stock @ $28 per metre so ask me to show you next time you are in the shop........if you like stitcheries you will love Yard Dyed fabric.
This LOVE Block of the Month will be run over 9 months. Every month the package will include the pattern envelope and fabrics. I will also include the Cosmo threads, staflex and enough Yarn Dyed fabric - to use for the quilt or to make a second quilt with Month 1. The cost will be $20.00 per month (plus postage if required) and will commence in March 2012. Month 9 will also include the sashings, border and binding.
So there you have it the 2 Block of the Month quilts on offer for 2012........both are really achievable projects.
