This was meant to be yesterday's blog post but unfortunately after trying to upload photos for 1 hour I gave up in disgust and decided to try it again tonight. So here it goes....a day late but oh well.
The downside to any tour is getting up early, having your bags packed and making sure that you are not the one that the bus is waiting for! This morning we left downtown LA (although Hannah will be back there on the 19th May), and headed off to Palm Springs.....it is certainly an oasis in the desert.
Just prior to reaching Palm Springs we took the aerial tram up the sheer cliffs of Chino Canyon. It was a 10 minute ride up to the Mountain Station at an elevation of 8,516 ft......with the ears popping all the way. Although we didn't see any cougars of the four legged variety, or any raccoons :( , I did snap a quick photo of a squirrel in the snow!
Palm Springs is beautiful but with only about 4 inches of rain a year, I'm not sure that I could live here. The group on the bus is mixed and very friendly........families, couples & singles from Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa and the US. Off to Scottsdale/Pheonix tomorrow.
