After my last holiday blog post I received a lovely email from Isabella giving me some wonderful advice. She said that although she really enjoys my posts about our holiday, I should be enjoying myself and take the pressure off blogging all of the time. So I have done exactly that and decided to make the typing bit brief and just caption some photos to give you an idea of what we have been up to. Maybe when I get to Quilt Market I will post lots of nice fabric eye candy for you....but until then it will be holiday snaps.....
We left Vegas behind and headed to Fresno. On the way we stopped at a run down Casino and saw the car that Bonnie and Clyde were in when they were shot.....in original condition with bullet holes and even Bonnie's bullet ridden shirt she was wearing!
On Saturday we visited Yosemite National Park. It was absolutely stunning.
We were really lucky......beautiful clear day and the snow was still melting which meant the waterfalls were still flowing.
It is certainly a place I would love to go back to and spend more time exploring......maybe I would get to see a bear next time.
We arrived in San Francisco yesterday and drove over the Golden Gate Bridge. Again we were lucky with the weather. A little fog rolled in but then rolled out again.
Today it was Alcatraz ....... a fascinating place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.....the accommodation options are a little basic!
Although the view of San Francisco was great....
Back at Pier 39 we said hello to the seals
It has been a great 12 day Cosmos Tour with our Tour Director, Andrew Moran who was fantastic. If you ever get him on a tour you can count yourself very lucky. And if you have Randy drive your coach, you are definitely in safe hands....he was a real favourite of everyone on the bus.
Tomorrow Hannah and I fly to New York for the second part of our holiday together. It's an early start with the airport transfer picking us up at 4.30am......yes 4.30am! So I'd better sign off and get some shut eye.
Linda from San Francisco, California
PS. I did try hard to keep it brief......sorry Isabella but I think I failed.....lol!
It is ok not to make it too brief, yes, it is your holiday but the blog will be a great record of all you have done. And a month a way means you will have done A LOT.
