Seems like ages since I last posted.....oh wait a minute it has been! Last post I mentioned how we had an early shuttle to the airport for our flight to New York. Getting up at 3.50am was a bit rough but we managed to get through it okay. New York was great but would have been greater if we had done a different tour on our full day there.....our reveiw on Trip Advisor about the tour will not go down too well with Serge our guide for the day. But let's forget all about grumpy Serge and see the few sights we got to see (and skip the ones that we snapped as we drove past in the bus......Empire State Building, Ground Zero, Central Park etc....hmmmm).

The view of Manhattan from our cruise
The 'highlight'of the day was when our tour group was asked to pose up for Jerry Springer. He was in his limo and his PR lady told us that he would pull up in front of us, get out and then we had to cheer and chant.....Jerry...Jerry....Jerry....
After New York, Hannah and I started our second organised tour.....this time an East Coast Tour, incorporating private plane and coach travel. We caught our private plane with the other 2 couples plus Audrey our Tour Director early on Wednesday morning. Yes there are only 6 of us on the tour so plenty of room to spread out and it saves lots of time getting on and off and in and out of places. Our first flight took us to Niagara falls where we then took the coach into Canada to stay 2 nights. Although hardly a comprehensive visit to Canada, we did do a day trip to Toronto and went up the CN Tower for some great views of the city.
But the real highlight was the Niagara Falls.......there are the Canadian falls
and the American falls
Check out the ice that is still there. The locals are saying that it is a really late season, so much so that the Maid in the Mist cruises hadn't even started up because there was still chunks of ice floating down the rivers and over the falls. On leaving Saturday morning we were extremely lucky that the pilot did a fly around and we were able to take some beautiful aerial shots.
Our flight took us to Washington DC.....but I will leave those photos for my next post as the Starbucks wifi has slowed right down.....probably because I have been here too long drinking my Strawberry Smoothie...lol! But before I go I would like to wish my mum a belated Mothers Day wish.....I hope Russell remembered to post the card to you :)
Finally.....I have never had so many selfies taken since being on these holidays....thanks to Hannah! So here is our special Mothers Day selfies taken at George & Martha Washington's house at Vernon Hill today.......
