Back in July Gail presented me a bundle of her new fabric range called 'Among the Flowers'. It was mine to keep.......to look at.....to pat......to unfold and fold up again......to show everyone and make them jealous (lol!).......but most importantly to use. It's always hard to cut into a lovely bundle of fabric but after seeing the panel that comes with the range I knew exactly what I wanted to make........a new Block of the Month. So I started fiddling around and making a few little blocks.
It went on the back burner for a little while as I concentrated on the preparations for the Stitch in Spring. But then last Friday inspiration hit and out came the blocks and onto the design wall they went.
After 2 days of (interrupted) planning, cutting, a little unsewing and stitching there were a lot less gaps and it was all fitting together nicely.
Yesterday afternoon I decided to stitch all the segments together, and add the borders.
And here it is.........my 'Garden Delights' Block of the Month Quilt.
The finished quilt is 48" x 50" (122cm x 127cm) so is a great size to pop up on a wall, or throw over a couch. The Block of the Month program will run for 6 months at $20 per month (plus postage).
I am now working on getting the patterns written up.......the part every designer hates the most!.....and the first block will be ready for collection/posting by the end of October.
