No I am not going crazy. Yes I know that it is Summer......although the weather doesn't say so. The Promise of Spring is another of the new fabric ranges that arrived in the shop just before Christmas. It is by Cori Dantini who does wonderful whimsical artwork and incorporates it into fabric panels which accompany each of her ranges.
The bunnies in the teacups are super cute, and although it is Easter themed........there is a gorgeous fabric with Easter eggs on it......it would suit a little girl's quilt perfectly.....and I know a little girl who might like this in a year or two! I thought that I would make the pattern that was put out by the company but unfortunately it wasn't going to work out. I am convinced that some of the designers whizz up these designs on a computer and never make it up into a quilt to see if it works out. The way that they had the panels cut would waste sooooo much fabric.....not to mention how hard it was to sew some of the rows together........ it was just ridiculous! So I set about and reworked their pattern and have made a new set of instructions and made my quilt from it.
It is all ready for the quilting, and then a deep pink binding around the edge. I will be kitting up a limited number of kits and they will be available by the end of the week for $70 each. You can find the details for the kits on my website here.....or the fabric on the bolts listed here.
Apologies for the photo....it is whiter than this shows.
