Three new books have arrived in the shop:
‘Kaleidoscope’ ($34) by Melanie Hurlston of Melly & Me; and
‘Baskets in Bloom’ ($32) by Gail Pan arrived a couple of weeks ago.
Rosalie Quinlan’s new book ‘A Stitch in Time’ ($30) arrived on Monday. All three books are just lovely and are full of beautiful projects that would make fantastic gifts for that special friend or relative. Even the books themselves would make a great gift.

Today saw the very first Simpson Farmers Market held at the newly renovated central parkland area. It was a great day and I don’t think that I have ever seen so many cars and people in Simpson………maybe only at the Agricultural Show at the Rec Reserve. There were over 30 stalls offering everything from honey to chocolates, cheese to eggs, olives to gerberas and everything in between. I made a quick dash to check it all out, leaving Russell in charge of the shop for about ½ an hour. My purchases included these items
Plus some chocolates from G.O.R.G.E but unfortunately the giant white chocolate freckle and the chocolate-coated red licorice didn’t quite make it to the photo shoot! The weather held off and it was a perfect morning…….it didn’t rain until about 2pm this afternoon. Many of the stall holders sold out of their goods with one guy saying that he sold more at Simpson today than at the Christmas Market at Red Hill (Melbourne that is not Jancourt…..lol)
It was also a fantastic chance to catch up with friends and neighbours…….it seemed like everyone was there. Congratulations must go to the organising committee and in particular Kylie who has done an incredible job coordinating it all. So if you missed it today why not come along to the next one on Sunday 11th October, 9.30am – 1pm……you might like to pop down to the shop and check out what I’ve got in stock too……why not make a day of it!

I must apologise for being tardy in posting about September's pattern of the month but I have just received them in the mail yesterday. This month's pattern is the new ‘Sleepover’ bag from Melly & Me .
It is a fantastic large overnight bag…….I have already chosen the fabrics to make mine out of……. ‘Swanky’ by Chez Moi……….now if I could just find some time to make it! Anyone who purchases the pattern in September will receive 2 magnetic clasps for free. The pattern is $15.

As promised yesterday, here are the photos of the new range of flannels that is fresh in.
The range includes 2 panels – one for the girls and one for the boys. They are soooo cute.
The panels are $13.60 each and the fabric is $22 / metre.

What an afternoon………just one little phone call can turn it all upside down. Your heart starts to race when you hear the words accident. It wasn’t as bad when the facts followed. Hannah had been in a car accident……luckily it was only in the supermarket car park…..not her fault either……some guy backing down the lane between the cars rammed straight into her little ‘Eve’ – Hannah’s pet name for her purple Ford Festiva.
Badly shaken she composed herself long enough to exchange names, get the guys licence number, address and phone number as well as getting witness details. It wasn’t until she drove poor battered ‘Eve’ back to work that Hannah fell in a heap. A quick call to home and I was on my way in to Colac to pick her up. Hopefully the guy has insurance…..or at least extended third party…….which should be compulsary for all car owners…….but I won’t get started on that.
Just quickly before I go the ‘Bouncing Baby’ flannels were delivered this afternoon so they will be in the Shop tomorrow. Will post some photos soon. Linda :)
