(even if it does embarrass the heck out of the kids!)
We hit the road on Saturday afternoon to head to Melbourne for a very important event....dinner with Julia Gillard and friends. Yes the Prime Minister of our great country invited us for an evening of partying at her 'humble' abode. Tim was no where to be seen but instead Julia was accompanied by a new man in her life - Ron Burgundy!
The occassion was my niece Lillian's 21st birthday party. Of course it was a Super Hero & Villian themed fancy dress party.....I will let you make up your own mind which catergory Julia (aka my sister Cathryn) fitted into! By the way Mark ..... love the wig.....lol!
The biggest villian for the night was this character......Wilfred....aka Russell.
This shot was taken outside the Rydges motel where 15 minutes earlier Russell walked up to the lady behind the bar and asked if they served dogs.......I knew from that point on that it was going to be one of THOSE nights......especially since he didn't even notice his tail was jammed in the car door! Don't worry the bong isn't real.......it's filled with a stong mix of gellatine and water for effect......I was just hoping that we didn't get pulled over by the police! For those out of the know Wilfred is a talking dog who smokes, drinks, swears, farts etc etc (see here for a little taste!). Russell certainly didn't disgrace the bad name of Wilfred.....some photos I will not show but here is one of our family.
Emma is Captain Hindsight (from South Park - how I wish I could wear a lycra suit like that!), I was Sue Sylvester from Glee, and Hannah was of course Wonder Woman.
My 'little' brother Peter went as Charles Manson.......who coincidently celebrated his 77 birthday on the same day as the party.......spooky............and Andy as Princess Fiona.
Other guests included Duff Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Banana Man, Mr Superannuation, Rambo, Ned Kelly, Poison Ivy, Steve Irwin, Darth Vadar, Sailor Moon (the birthday girl) plus many more.
It was great night and I am pleased to report that Wilfred enjoyed himself as he immersed himself into full character........and that he was quite subdued the next morning. A full day in the tractor yesterday saw one very tired dog last night!
Linda :)
hmmmm...looks like the cast of characters had a good time!!!!
