Tomato Sauce season

Last year the weather was really very warm and by the time I decided to buy the tomatoes and make my tomato sauce it was too late and the sauce tomato season was over.....grrrr! Luckily I had made enough the previous year to last us through. So when I saw this 25kg box today at the Fruit & Vegie Market today I grabbed it.

Even though time is tight with the lead up to my first 'Stitching by the Sea' Retreat, I'm sure that I will find time to make them up into my delicious Tomato and Chilli Sauce.

"I Heart You" Quilt

This morning  I finished hand stitching the binding down on my "I Heart You" Quilt. The next stop was the garden to take a few photos. The sun was shining and the birds were singing so it seemed like the perfect spot.

It is a large quilt (72" x 72") but the panels make the piecing process quite quick. Kits are available for $98 and include all of the fabric for the quilt top, the binding and the pattern. Available in the shop or order online here

Done & dusted for another year

It seems like I spend more time apologising for being absent from my blog than being on it lately. The excuse this time has been our annual Heytesbury Agricultural Show. It is a great country show with lots of attractions, activities and events for the whole family to enjoy. Our 'world' famous Mystery Show Bag is a huge draw card and sells out quick smart. My role on the committee is the chief steward of the Homecraft Pavilion. Somehow this year crept up on me very quickly and for the first time in eight years I wasn't organised. But despite this I muddled my way through and it was a great display. Beautiful flowers

There was also cooking, preserves, dahlias, knitting, crochet, junior sections and a record 140 entries in the photography section.

I get to work alongside some wonderful ladies on the Homecraft Committee, which does make my job a lot easier. I promise to be more organised next year, but maybe I need a few of these to help me.....
