It has been lovely to have Emma and Georgia home with us for a couple of days. Georgia is a placid baby and sleeps very well at night.......from 10.30pm until about 8am.....every mother's dream! She smiles and laughs a lot and is a huge 'time waster' in the best possible way. So for today's TBT I thought that I would post a photo of Georgia's mum.
I can still remember getting this photo taken in the back yard at Mum's.....I was showing Emma the canaries. Where have the years gone?!

It's great to be home again after a couple of weeks of Quilt Shows and living out of a suitcase.
It's been a very busy and exhausting, yet enjoyable time. It's also great to be back into my own bed......I must have been tired last night because apparently I was snoring!
We have unpacked the ute, but before I put the shop back together (and possibly a little rearrange), I need to catch up on some paper work....including the BAS.....and also some orders. So if you are waiting for the Cottage Garden Thread Collectors Club parcel for July, it will be on it's way out to you tomorrow.
I have some exciting shop news but I will be back soon to share it with you all.

With only one day left until we pack up and head for home it's hard to believe that it will be all over for another year. There are months of planning and preparation work that go into organising all of the stock for events such as the Craft & Quilt Fair / AQC and the like. You never know what will be popular and sell well, and what you should have brought more of.....like my Dear Prudence books!! Every event is different, every day is different but next year it might all be completely different!
One great thing about attending these event is that I get to meet and chat with people. In Adelaide it was lovely to catch up with Michelle Hill. In Melbourne I caught up with Sugy Kim who won Best in Show with her quilt "Journey to Nivarna"....an absolutely amazing quilt and a lovely lady too.....extremely talented. It was lovely to chat with Rosalie Quinlan for a while this afternoon, and briefly with Melissa Grant....One Day in May.....yesterday.........and of course all of my lovely customers, blog followers and fellow facebookers.
A special visitor dropped by on Thursday.....Gail Pan. Gail and I have been friends for quite a few years now and has been a tutor at my Stitch in Spring days for 3 years and will be back again this September. Gail has a new range of fabrics coming out next month and I have ordered them all for the shop. Gail has very kindly gifted me a fat eighth bundle.....and I have a very special project in mind.....
I will start on it next week......after I do the BAS!

We are currently attending our first Craft & Quilt Fair in Melbourne......two days down and two to go. It has been great catching up and chatting with lots of lovely ladies, with many walking away with kits and goodies in their bags.
The view across the aisle is a vast improvement on the (totally creepy) baby reborn dolls of last week's show in Adelaide.

.....and I am soooo tempted to buy a kit and make one for Georgia.
I just have to decide which one!
It's now time to put my feet up and relax before what will hopefully be a busy weekend.

I have been away from home quite a bit in the last fortnight.....Adelaide and now Melbourne......and while it is nice eating out and and seeing the sights, I do miss the peace and quiet of living in the country (and my own bed!). I often think how lucky we are that we live where we do.....and that our girls were brought up on a farm. So that brings me to today's photo. It was taken one Summer evening while my niece, Lillian & nephew, Alexander were visiting from Melbourne. We collected some firewood, built a camp fire, toasted marshmallows and fished for eels in one of our dams. Lots of laughs and screaming.......mostly from Emma when a Koala started grunting along the creek.....lol!
So here is Emma, Hannah, Alexander, Horse and me......Lillian must have been behind the camera in this photo.

I wish that it was possible to be in two places at the one time but alas it is not. So tonight as I sit in Adelaide the rest of my family are in Melbourne attending a very important event......my niece's wedding. Lillian and her partner Jordan decided about a month ago to get married on their 8th anniversary and as I had already booked our trip to Adelaide I was unable to accept their invitation to join in their celebration. I know that they are having a wonderful time (albeit without us) as I have had some photos and texts from Hannah telling me so! Emma and Hannah are there having a wonderful time.....
and even Georgia is there.......attending her very first wedding!
Yes I have broken the 'no photos on social media' rule.....but this one was just way too good not to share......plus I am having Georgia withdrawals atm!
So Congratulations Lillian and Jordan on the occasion of your wedding. We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness together.

Well Day One is over and we have just returned from dinner so I thought that I would show you all what we have been up to. We arrived at the Showgrounds on Thursday morning and were able to drive the ute right up to my stand to unload. Oh my goodness this saved so easy and saved so much time.
I thought that 3 tables would be ideal for the 3m x 3m stand, but I should have drawn it up first as it just wasn't going to work. So off Russell went to buy a smaller table to fit the gap. I continued pinning up the quilts and organising the stock. I now know what the contestants feel like on Masterchef.....time goes so quickly. But by 1.30pm I was finished and we were able to head off for a drive.
I brought Prudence with me......she has been living in Elenor Jean's shadow for a while so it was nice to put her up on display for a change. We were quite busy today and it was wonderful to meet some new ladies as well as saying hello to some 'old' customers who were very happy that we had made the trip to Adelaide.
We are looking forward to another busy day tomorrow.

Today's TBT is a photo that was taken 7 years ago, when Russell and I went out for a day trip on his bike. We visited Post Campbell for lunch and then called in to Apostle Whey Cheese on the way home.....which is where the photo was taken.
After Russell had his accident and the bike was written off, we haven't been on a bike. We still have our leathers but I really don't think that they will see the open road again......if only that ute driver had given way and not gone straight through the intersection........

We planned to leave home this morning at 7am for our long drive to Adelaide for the Sewing, Stitching and Hand Craft Show this weekend.....and as amazing as it sounds we drove out the drive with a fully laden ute of fabric and craft goodness right at 7am! Our morning tea, stretch our legs and loo stop was at Mt Gambier. It was nice to get out of the car and get some fresh air.....even if it was very fresh!
We then decided to take a slight detour via Robe....but the closer we got the gloomier it looked. The rain started to fall but we did stop for a little while and take a few snaps at the marina.
We stopped for lunch at Salt Creek and then made it to Unley in good time. We managed to find the appartment.....sort of by accident, while the GPS was telling us to do a U turn. All settled in and ready for a big day tomorrow.....setting up in the morning and some site seeing in the afternoon......can't wait!
