Merry Christmas everyone

The Shop will be closed on Thursday 24th, Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th December. I will be open again on Thursday 31st December for normal trading.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. I hope that Santa is kind to you all and that you get to spend the time with the people you love, and remember with love the people who are no longer with us.

Teacups and Butterflies Block of the Month

I have been having lots of fun over the last week........stitching up my sample of the beautiful new 'Teacups and Butterflies' Block of the Month Quilt by Leanne Knell from Petals & Patches. I started last Saturday on Block number one.......some cute tea cups.......appliqued and stitched.

It was quickly followed by Blocks 2 and 3.

It is the first time that I have ever used pencils to colour fabric.......and I must admit it is quite addictive......just a little bit here and a little bit there. I am learning a lot as I am going but I am quite pleased with the results so far.

I finished off Block 4 this afternoon,

and have made a start on Blocks 6 & 7.........yes I know that I have skipped one but it is the centre block and I am saving it for Boxing Day. I would like to have the whole quilt finished by early January and at this rate I just might achieve my goal. I hope that mine looks as good as Leanne's.....

The one difference between Leanne's quilt and mine will be that I have chosen to use Cosmo Stranded Embroidery Threads instead of the Cottage Garden Threads (except for the centre block). I have chosen 10 colours to match the Tilda fabrics (Sweetheart & Autumn Tree)........I am really happy with the colours.....

As you can see the quilt incorporates stitchery, applique, machine piecing, fussy cutting and a little bit of colouring in on some of the stitchery blocks (optional). I will be running it as a Block of the Month program over 10 months at a cost of $25 per month (plus p&h). Included in the cost will be all of the Tilda fabrics (Sweetheart & Autumn Tree) for the quilt blocks, Moda Bella Solid fabric for the background of the stitchery & applique blocks, the thread pack of 10 Cosmo stranded embroidery threads, one hank of Cottage Garden Thread for the centre block, comprehensive pattern (with colour photos), and the binding fabric. Closing early today

I just wanted to pop by and let you all know that I will be closing the shop early today as I have to go to Melbourne. I will be closing up at 2pm instead of 4pm......but it is only for today. The shop will be open all weekend 11am to 4pm for those wanting to stock up supplies for those last minute Christmas making projects. I also have a good selection of scarves priced at $8.50 and $9.50 each, as well as Room Diffusers and Candle & Room Diffuser sets for just $19.90 each.

Brickwall syndrome

After a very hectic and busy Christmas Sale week and weekend, I hit a wall on Monday. I didn't feel like doing anything.......I think that I was just tired. So for the past few days I have poked around......tidying up, doing paperwork, visiting Mum, gardening and mowing the lawns......just general stuff..... and of course a little bit of stitching. Georgia is just starting to crawl so I have been keeping an eye on her progress via facebook and messenger with the videos. I watch and re-watch them! Now that she is mobile Emma & Ryan have invested in a playpen........but not the old wooden ones that we all used to have that would pinch your fingers when you were trying to fold them up..........check this out.....

According to Emma, it is to keep Georgia safe and her sane.......but I'm not sure what Ryan's intentions are.....

Christmas Sale

Yes it's that time of the year again..........my Annual Christmas Sale. This will be my 9th Christmas Sale since I opened in 2007 and I must admit I really do love it! The tree is up, the carols are playing, and the Shop will be chock full of fabric, kits, patterns, books and gifts. As in past years, I will be opening up tonight from 5.30pm until 8.30pm.....and then Thursday 3rd until Sunday 6th December, 11am until 4pm daily.

There will be 20% off all Stock * with all new stock included..........yes The Cat's Pyjamas and Melba are in!

The Christmas Tree 'Pick a Present' is back again too........Spend over $30 (after discount) and pick a card off the tree to reveal a gift. I will also be extending the Sale to my online customers as well as a special thank you for your support.......starting on Thursday 3rd December until Sunday 6th December 2015. Spend over $50 (after discount, before p&h) and I will include a free gift. Use the promotional word Santa to receive your discount. Hopefully I have programmed it all correctly so that the discount is taken off, but if it doesn't I will do it manually before processing credit card payments. Please note that some of the fabrics listed on my website are not in stock at the moment so this discount will not apply to pre-orders for that stock.

As a special treat tonight, Russell will be cooking up a storm on the BBQ........well it will be sausages in bread......but that's okay isn't it!
