Hands up if you are excited to see September arrive and glad to see the end of August? I for one have had an August that I would rather forget, and am quite happy to move on to a new month.....and a new season. Spending most of the month with either a sore back, a horrid cold and then Sinusitis with antibiotics (took the last one this morning....yay!), throw in the cold, wet and miserable weather, and not being able to get out and spend time in my garden, it was no wonder that I just wanted to crawl in to bed and stay there. Glimpses of sunshine last week gave me hope and lifted my spirits.......but when it comes down to it there are many areas that have missed the rain that we always tend to whinge about in August.
August has added 141.5mm to our annual rainfall total, which stands at 607mm which is roughly what we have had up to the end of August for 2016 & 2017. But as any farmer will tell you......it's not how much you get, it's when you get it that's important. Here's to a sunny Spring, rain when we need it and rising temperatures.......oh and rain for further north.
Linda :)
glad you are feeling much better now.....enjoy your garden coming into srping.......wow the green looks great.......you had more rain in August then we have had all year........we're just over 100mm now........and yes the timing of rain is so important........
