When I first decided to attend Quiltopia, I asked the organisers whether they would like me to put my 'Dear Prudence' and 'Elenor Jean' quilts on display. It would be the first time ever that the two quilts would be on display together.....side by side. They enthusiastically agreed, and on Sunday I packed them in to their bags and into a plastic tub, and they were soon on their way to Sydney with us.....ribbons and all! Without sounding conceited, I often forget how great they are. I see them both every day, and they have lost some of the wow factor that others get when seeing them for the first time. But after hanging them on Thursday, and standing back and looking at them both together, I experienced that wow factor and felt quite overwhelmed.
Russell was keeping a protective eye on them as people stopped and looked at them........lol!
As an added extra, I gave a 'Meet the Maker' talk about the two quilts every day at 1.30pm.
I really enjoyed telling people about the quilts and answering their questions.......it was fun!
