Oh my how quickly things change. Just a few hours after posting on my blog on Sunday, everything changed. With the Victorian State Government recommendations about closing non-essential businesses, I decided to close the doors of my shop for the time being. To be totally honest with you all, I am quite relieved to be doing this. It was stressful having to sanitise and wipe down after every customer, and practicing social distancing when selecting fabrics and running such a tactile business is quite difficult. I believe that if we are to flatten the curve of Covid-19, we all have to do our bit.
I am making the most of this time by designing and making lots of new projects, and I will be showing them to you all of them over the coming weeks (via my blog and Facebook). There will still be lots of new fabric deliveries, although I may just get the delivery guys to leave them on the front porch! My online shop is still up and running, and thank you to all of my wonderful customers who place orders this way. I will also offer mailbox pickup so if you need something for your isolation stitching project, let me know and I can work something out with you.....just like Michelle and Irene did yesterday.
I am very fortunate to keep good health, but I have family and friends who do not. I am just one person, but together we can beat this.
Russell is also at home, with all go karting postponed / cancelled until the middle of the year. No weekends away.......which means the washing is folded, the ironing is done, the floors are mopped, and the vacuuming is done. He starts pressing his apple harvest tomorrow for his cider. Life isn't too bad after all......lol!
Stay at home, Stay safe, and Stay well.
Linda :)
