TBT #52

Well here we are at TBT once again. After 52 weeks and 52 photos you have seen the good......the bad.....and the ugly.......but not the really ugly as I burnt all of those photos when we moved! I thought that I would struggle to get enough for a whole year of TBTs but I underestimated exactly how many photos I had lying around of me. So what photo shall I show for the very last one? I have already shown all of my favourites so I decided that since this is blog related I would pop up the first profile photo that I used when I set up my blog back in April 2008....... gee 7 1/2 years ago!

I am older, greyer and wiser......lol!

Well I hope that you have enjoyed all of the photos.........do you have a favourite? I have many but the one of Russell in his shorts has to be close to the top of the list!

TBT #50

Well I have hit the big five O with my Throw Back Thursday photos. After today's photo there will be only 2 more until I say goodbye to it.....I am quickly running out of 'decent' photos to show you all, and believe me you do NOT want to see the bottom of the pile!

Today's photo was taken quite a few years ago (20 plus) when I used to propagate and sell plants as a hobby / small business. I would travel to markets and also open up a couple of days a week at the farm during the growing season. I would grow mainly cottage plants and herbs. I also grew a lot of native trees for planting on the farm.....selling some of the excess.

Yesterday I spent a couple of hours planting vegetable and flower seeds in pots and punnets for the coming season. I really enjoyed it.......maybe I should start growing plants again!

TBT #47

This time last week I was racing around like a headless chook trying to get everything ready for the Stitch in Spring. It has been nice to be able to relax a little this week......taking my time to put the shop back together and plan what I would like to do this week in the Shop as opposed to what I have to do. Don't get me wrong I love all of the planning, organising and getting ready for the Stitch in Spring, as well as making people happy! But it is very nice not to have the pressure anymore.......well at least not until next year!

Today I decided to post a group TBT photo of my helpers on the weekend (minus Russell & Lyndell).......taken last year at Pete & Andy's wedding.

I know that I probably posted this photo last year in my wedding Blog post but I really do love this photo and wanted to share it once again.

TBT #45

It is that time of the week again for Throw Back Thursday and a photo from my past. This one was taken on a family trip/holiday.....a photo full of Goodes.

Dad's brother Don (Uncle Donny to us) is on the left holding our his daughter Sandra, Karen is standing in front. Pop (Dad's father) in the centre holding Peter. Dad is looking very dapper in his hat and tie, and trying to control cousin Andrew who has a mischievous look on his face......Ann is at the back, then me with Cathryn at the front.

And I am guessing that Mum was taking the photo.

Yes I know....two blog posts in one day!!!! When I did my post this morning I completely forgot that it was Thursday and TBT photo day. Deary me......I must really be getting old and forgetful! So I hope that I haven't forgotten and already shown you this photo already......a cute one with me looking all coy, Pete in the stroller, and Ann smiling at the camera.

Not sure where Cathryn was when this one was taken......but check out my beautiful curls!

Holiday snaps are always fun to look back on.....whether for good or bad reasons. Today's photo is a cute one of Emma (about 5 years old) feeding a kangaroo. Hannah is behind Emma....at a safe distance!

I can't remember where it was taken, but it must have been during the warmer weather.......oh my look at my lovely legs!

A few months ago I read this great article about the benefits of traveling with your mum. It was a list of benefits from the Awww factor when you introduce your mum to a group to the 'occasional' "I'll pay for this" dining experiences.......there is someone to do stuff with, and it's nice to spend time together as Mum's aren't too bad after all. There is also the opportunity to take silly photos together.......

Hannah wants to travel again to the US and has asked me whether I would go with her. I'm not sure that I am ready for another 500 selfies.......or am I?

TBT #40

When I started TBT last year I never thought that 40 weeks later I would be still doing it.......finding old and often embarrassing photos from my past. Some have been from long long ago while others more recent. Today's photo I found tucked away in a photo album. It was taken in 2000......when the world didn't end from the 'dreaded' Y2K bug.....and Russell and I went on a holiday to the UK. We were there for 17 days and it was the longest that we had spent away from Emma & Hannah. About 5 days into the trip I just wanted to go home and see the girls again......yep home sick for them. After navigating time differences and speaking to home and finding out that they were coping extremely well without me, I was able to enjoy our holiday in the UK. I even got to see the Loch Ness Monster!

We are hoping to make it back to the UK one day. I know that I won't be missing the girls this time around, but maybe a little granddaughter instead!

PS. I always think of The Goodies when I look at this photo....it reminds me of the episode when they were looking for the Loch Ness Monster......classic Goodies!

 

TBT#39

It has been lovely to have Emma and Georgia home with us for a couple of days. Georgia is a placid baby and sleeps very well at night.......from 10.30pm until about 8am.....every mother's dream! She smiles and laughs a lot and is a huge 'time waster' in the best possible way. So for today's TBT  I thought that I would post a photo of Georgia's mum.

I can still remember getting this photo taken in the back yard at Mum's.....I was showing Emma the canaries. Where have the years gone?!

TBT#38

I have been away from home quite a bit in the last fortnight.....Adelaide and now Melbourne......and while it is nice eating out and and seeing the sights, I do miss the peace and quiet of living in the country (and my own bed!). I often think how lucky we are that we live where we do.....and that our girls were brought up on a farm. So that brings me to today's photo. It was taken one Summer evening while my niece, Lillian & nephew, Alexander were visiting from Melbourne. We collected some firewood, built a camp fire, toasted marshmallows and fished for eels in one of our dams. Lots of laughs and screaming.......mostly from Emma when a Koala started grunting along the creek.....lol!

So here is Emma, Hannah, Alexander, Horse and me......Lillian must have been behind the camera in this photo.
